terms of service

the vesperine is a digital companion for tarot, astrology, spellcraft and journaling. it is offered for reflection and entertainment. it is not professional, medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice, and it is not a substitute for any of them. tarot and astrology are symbolic traditions; they have not been shown to predict events, and nothing here is a promise about your future. you are responsible for the decisions you make. if you are in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line, not an app.

the companion and written readings are generated by an AI model working from your cards, chart and the context you share. it can be wrong, incomplete or oddly phrased. astronomical positions in charts are calculated, but the interpretations are not facts. don't rely on any reading for health, legal, money or safety decisions.

you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to buy a paid seat or create an account. the free features are intended for adults.

most of the vesperine works with no account. when you sign in (by emailed magic link) you're responsible for the security of that inbox and for activity under your account. what you write — journal entries, questions, saved readings — remains yours; you give us only the permission needed to store it, process it to run the service (including sending the relevant parts to our AI provider to answer you), and back it up. you can delete your account by writing to us; see the privacy notice for what that removes.

paid seats (adept, the vesperine, and the sigil) are sold at the prices shown at checkout, in usd. card purchases are processed by Gumroad and crypto purchases by NowPayments, under their terms as well as ours. crypto payments settle on-chain and are final once confirmed, apart from the cases in the refund rite. a seat gives access for the period stated when you buy it: crypto seats do not auto-renew, and a card purchase renews only if its checkout page says so. you can buy again to continue. the sigil is a one-time lifetime seat limited to five hundred; “lifetime” means for as long as the service operates. we may change prices for future purchases; a price change doesn't affect a seat you've already paid for.

don't attempt to break, probe, scrape at scale, resell, or misuse the service, don't share a paid seat, and don't use it to harm others or to generate unlawful content. we may suspend access that does. the content, art and design are ours or our licensors'; you may not copy or redistribute them beyond your personal use. the written guides and card meanings may be quoted briefly with a link back.

we aim to keep the service running but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. features may change or be withdrawn; if we remove a paid feature you've paid for, we'll make it right under the refund rite.

the vesperine is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. to the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for decisions made on the basis of a reading, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the prior twelve months. nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
