what you gather
- ·small mirror (compact-sized or larger)
- ·black candle
- ·black thread or string
- ·small slip of paper
- ·rosemary sprig (dried or fresh)
the working
- Ion the slip of paper, write the kind of harm being sent (NOT who, unless certain): 'gossip,' 'evil eye,' 'manipulation.'
- IIplace the paper face-down on the mirror's reflective surface.
- IIIlay the rosemary sprig on top.
- IVlight the black candle and drip wax to seal the paper to the mirror.
- Vwrap the entire bundle (mirror + paper + rosemary) in black thread, 9 turns. Knot with each turn.
- VIspeak the incantation as you tie each knot.
- VIIlet the candle burn down completely.
- VIIIhide the wrapped mirror in a high, dark place in the home (a closet shelf, an attic). Leave for a full lunar cycle.
- IXafter the cycle, dispose: bury off-property, or break the mirror at a crossroads (with respect for the seven years of bad luck folklore — many witches dispute this).
